THE DEVELOPMENT OF AUSTRALIAN STANDARD PROCEDURES FOR TESTING ALUMINA

A Committee was formed five years ago, in response to requests from the Alumina and Aluminium Smelting Industries, for standardisation of methods that quantify the physical and chemical characteristics of alumina.

This paper details progress made towards development of Australian Standards fulfilling this requirement.
